As San Diego dominated the opening game, Abbi Shilts demonstrated that she’s ready to join the Super Bloom stars.

Shilts scored 6 goals on Saturday, beating her regular season totals from 2024 and 2025 (4 and 5, respectively), and consistently gained ground for San Diego, leading the team with 271 receiving yards. She capped her performance with one assist and one block on only a single turnover, giving her a team-best plus/minus of +7. Shilts also becomes only the 7th player in league history to notch 6 goals in a single game.

At only 23 years old, Shilts is a member of two gold-winning Team USA U24 delegations in 2023 and 2025 and is poised to help drive San Diego toward their goal of a second WUL Championship in 2026.

WUL Week 2 Preview

CO @ OR (Game of the Week)

Week 2 Game of the Week is the opening game for both Colorado Alpenglow and Oregon Soar as CO travels to the Pacific Northwest for a double header weekend. Colorado will be looking to redeem their 2025 post season 4th place finish, and Oregon is still seeking their first franchise win. Colorado brings back stars Abby Thorpe, Ari Nelson, and Jade McLaughlin along with new addition Maggie O’Connor, but will have to play without 2025 defensive contributors Rory Veldman and Megan Maxfield as they look for a win on the road. Oregon has had more roster turnover, but boasts the return of Noelle Takahashi and Rachel Egan, as well as adding some big WUL names including Murl Hammond and Caity “Yeti” Winterbottom, plus New England transplants Caitlyn Fitzgerald and Emily Pozzy. Oregon showed flashes of great play last year, including out-scoring Colorado in the second half of their home match in 2025. This game will also be an opportunity for Oregon fans to show up for their team as the organization gets ready to host Championship Weekend this year. Catch the game live in Portland at 4pm PT 3/21 or stream on the WUL YouTube channel!

CO @ SEA

Colorado Alpenglow will complete their road trip with a game in Seattle against the Tempest on Sunday afternoon. This rematch of the 2025 3rd place game is a chance for both teams to show they’ve improved after some roster change-ups. Seattle brings back Kaitlynne Roling after losing 2025 Defensive Player of the Year Sadie Jezierski to the PUL, but returns major contributors in Cheryl Hsu and Drea Baroma. This game could be a harbinger of things to come for each former champion as they fight to get back to the top of the league. Catch the game live in Seattle at 1pm PT 3/22 or on the WUL YouTube channel!
