United in Ultimate. Unwavering in Inclusion.

All-Star Inclusion Statement

The Ultimate Frisbee Association, Western Ultimate League, and the Premier Ultimate League will come together again for an annual multi-league-wide weekend August 27-28, 2026, in Madison, WI. The UFA will host its championship games, and the WUL and PUL will face off in the second Annual WUL vs PUL All-Star Game. As our communities come together to celebrate our sport, we also recognize the importance of standing together for the people who make it stronger.

The executive order and new Supreme Court decision barring transgender women and girls from participating in sports has left our friends and teammates once again targeted by legislation created to drive discriminatory and hateful policies that weaponize harmful stereotypes in an attempt to erase transgender athletes from these spaces.

The PUL, WUL, UFA and MUFA (Madison Ultimate Frisbee Association) categorically reject these attempts to drive a wedge through our communities and the hurtful effort to remove opportunities from people that deserve them as much as anyone.

Our organizations remain proudly committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and affirming environment for athletes of all gender expressions. Sport is an essential part of people's lives. It provides a physical, mental, and emotional outlet and can offer camaraderie in a time when many find themselves increasingly isolated.

Our organizations believe in empowering all of our players to safely participate as their authentic selves.

The PUL and WUL remain firm in their gender inclusion policies, and this statement has represented our leagues in the past and will remain our commitment going forward. MUFA’s full gender inclusion policy can be found here.

MUFA is proud to have fostered a community where people across all spectrums can play and thrive as their best selves, and they commit to continuing to work to make their community a better place for those from marginalized backgrounds through their policies and actions. In the face of a wave of discrimination and hate, they work tirelessly to reinforce MUFA as a community for all.

The leadership of the three leagues and MUFA stand behind these statements, and we would like to share some resources to engage with to raise awareness and to deepen understanding of the issues facing transgender people.

A Historic Weekend in Ultimate, A Shared Commitment to Inclusion

A Historic Weekend in Ultimate, A Shared Commitment to Inclusion

The Ultimate Frisbee Association, Western Ultimate League, and the Premier Ultimate League will come together for the first multi-league-wide weekend, August 22-23, 2025, in Madison, WI. The UFA will host its championship games, and the WUL and PUL will face off in the inaugural All-Star Game.

The leadership for the three leagues would like to invite our athletes, coaches, and staff to share the vision that our host city’s ultimate organization, the Madison Ultimate Frisbee Association (MUFA), has for the protection of transgender people in light of the challenges to their rights:

“The executive order barring transgender women and girls from participating in sports has left our friends and teammates once again targeted by legislation created to drive discriminatory and hateful policies that weaponize harmful stereotypes in an attempt to erase transgender athletes from these spaces. MUFA categorically rejects these attempts to drive a wedge through our communities and the hurtful effort to remove opportunities from people that deserve them as much as anyone. MUFA remains proudly committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and affirming environment for athletes of all gender expressions. Sport is an essential part of people's lives. It provides a physical, mental, and emotional outlet and can offer camaraderie in a time when many find themselves increasingly isolated. MUFA believes in empowering all of our players to safely participate as their authentic selves. Agender, gender non-conforming (GNC), genderqueer, or gender fluid players remain encouraged to join MUFA leagues and match up with the players that they feel most comfortable playing with and marking. This statement has represented our leagues in the past and will remain our commitment going forward. MUFA’s full gender inclusion policy can be found here.

MUFA is proud to have fostered a community where people across all spectrums can play and thrive as their best selves, and we commit to continuing to work to make our community a better place for those from marginalized backgrounds through our policies and actions. In the face of a wave of discrimination and hate, we will work tirelessly to reinforce MUFA as a community for all.”

The leadership of the three leagues stands behind the MUFA statement, and we would like to share some resources to engage with to raise awareness and to deepen understanding of the issues facing transgender people.

WUL and PUL Face Off in First-Ever All-Star Game Hosted at UFA Championship Weekend

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Western Ultimate League and Premier Ultimate League Face Off in First-Ever All-Star Game Hosted at UFA Championship Weekend

[April 24, 2025] — For the first time in professional women’s and non-binary ultimate history, the best of the West will battle the powerhouses of the East.

The Western Ultimate League (WUL) is thrilled to announce a historic All-Star Game set to take place on Saturday, August 23, 2025, in Madison, Wisconsin — in partnership with the Ultimate Frisbee Association (UFA) Championship Weekend. But this isn’t your typical All-Star event. This year, WUL All-Stars won’t be playing each other — they’ll be facing off against top talent from the Premier Ultimate League (PUL) in a never-before-seen showdown between the two pro leagues.

The WUL will bring two to four All-Stars per team, selected through a mix of fan voting and coach nominations. The rosters will feature high-flying highlights, clutch throws, and elite-level WUL vs PUL matchups that fans have only dreamed of—until now.

“This moment has been years in the making,” said WUL Commissioner Nicole Neumiller. “We've always known the WUL and PUL were filled with incredible athletes. Now, for the first time, we get to settle the question fans have asked for years: Who’s the best?”

Held during the UFA’s 2025 Championship Weekend, the All-Star Game will enjoy prime visibility, high-quality live streaming, and the energy of a national championship audience.

“We’re honored to share the field and spotlight with the UFA during their biggest weekend of the year,” said Neumiller. “This All-Star Game isn’t just a competition—it’s a celebration of the people who are changing the game.”

“One of the goals of both our leagues is to showcase underrepresented athletes in our growing sport,” said PUL Commissioner Amanda Dallas. “This game is an exciting opportunity to celebrate our athletes and share their accomplishments with some of the biggest fans of ultimate in the world.”

“UFA Championship Weekend showcases the league’s top four teams and ultimately crowns a champion,” says CEO and Commissioner Tim DeByl, “but it’s also the biggest celebration of our sport, our athletes and our fans from around the world. Hosting the WUL and PUL for this groundbreaking event is exciting for our entire community, as all of our leagues continue to grow.”

The game will be streamed live and for free on YouTube, and admission to the game will be included with any 2025 UFA Championship Weekend ticket (weekend pass or single-day), along with an optional donation to a shared WUL and PUL fund. More information will be made available on the 2025 UFA Championship Weekend site.
