Sponsorship Sales Manager

It is an exciting time in women’s sports, with a great opportunity for the Western Ultimate League (WUL) to build new partnerships that align with our fans' purchasing power and increase the visibility of ultimate disc (frisbee)in communities new to the sport.

The Sponsorship Sales Manager will work with the Executive Director and/or Board Member(s) in creating and executing growth strategy partnership opportunities for the WUL that promote the sport and teams. 

The Sponsorship Sales Manager will be able to work independently while maintaining a consistent structure, efficiency in productivity, and top-notch creative execution. Moreover, this individual must manage ambiguity while embodying the vision, mission, and core values of the WUL. 

Skill Expectations:

  • Source a list of appropriate potential Sponsor Partners aligned with women’s sports fans in the US, in particular those tied directly to teams in the WUL

  • Develop and update sponsorship procurement decks on a per-client basis (as needed)

  • Reach out to potential sponsors and pitch various partner engagement opportunities

  • Work with WUL Marketing Committee and/or Board to optimize sponsorship package offerings, and custom-tailor sponsorships and fan activations as needed 

  • Sponsor Assurance - ensure that sponsor obligations are being met

  • Maintain relationships with league sponsors – keep consistent engagement with sponsors and ensure a seamless experience partnering with the league

  • Identify and evaluate emerging social channels, features, applications, platforms, tools, and strategies; suggest implementation when beneficial to strategic objectives

  • Creative execution, or delegation, on all deliverables to sponsor

Time Expectations: 

Contract available immediately. It is expected that it will be an average of 3-6 hours on any given week, with the exception of any documented time off:

  • Update sponsorship deck/flyer; initiate connections; sign contracts

    • Connecting with potential sponsors asap for key visibility positions for the league

      • YouTube Streaming

      • Premier or “Title” position on website and streaming games

      • Social media and website

      • Field signage for all teams

  • Activation and execution of contracts

    • Make sure all deliverables are communicated within league and teams

      • Streaming, ticket give aways, half-time events, signage, social media, etc

  • Follow up on results 

    • Thank you’s and deliverables

    • Continue through August when/if All-Star Game occurs (or equivalent game)

This is a highly independent role that allows the contractor to earn more based on results. A person efficient with their time and highly motivated will maximize their hours-to-results ratio.

Classification & Compensation:

This is a contractor position classification (W9 - 1099). There are no specific hours or schedule required for this position. WUL will require a W9 and will submit 1099 forms in January.

Compensation: Stipend + Commission + Growth Bonus

  • Stipend $300-$500 per Month

  • Commission 10% of any new sponsorship dollars obtained

  • Growth Bonus: Accelerators and growth bonuses for total sponsorships obtained
