Commissioner’s Letter: Looking Ahead to the 2026 WUL Season

March 9, 2026

To our players, fans, coaches, and supporters,

As we get ready to kick off another season of the Western Ultimate League, I want to take a moment to say how excited I am for what’s ahead.

This will be my first season serving as Executive Director of the WUL, and over the past few months, I’ve already seen something that makes this league truly special. The dedication from our players, coaches, team leaders, volunteers, and fans is remarkable. The WUL exists because of the passion and belief of people who care deeply about this sport and about creating opportunities for women and non-binary atahletes to compete at the highest level.

Opening Day on March 14 marks the beginning of another chapter for the league. Our teams have been working hard all offseason, and the level of talent across the league continues to grow. I can’t wait to see the energy, competition, and community that make WUL games so unique.

While I’m new to this role, I’m stepping into a league with a strong foundation and an incredible group of people pushing it forward. I see a bright future for the WUL, and I’m grateful for the chance to help support the continued growth of the league alongside all of you.

Whether you’re a longtime supporter or discovering the WUL for the first time this season, thank you for being part of this community. Your support is what makes this league possible.

Here’s to a great season ahead.

See you on the field.

Will Griffin
